Membership of the Society is open to all artists whose work, paintings or sculptures, can be shown to be of a consistently high standard or where the adjudicating committee are satisfied that potential exists.
Applications for membership are dealt with at present twice per annum, in the Spring and in the Autumn. Applicants are required to provide for the selection committee three works of art, suitably framed and mounted as if for exhibition purposes. Prospective members should endeavour to provide works of varying subject matter although this is not obligatory.

The selection panel appointed by the main committee consists of five experienced artists from within the Society. A four to one majority vote in favour of membership is required and all applicants are advised in writing of the result. Please note that no correspondence or communication will be entered into if an application for membership is rejected.

The Society, over the years has endeavoured to maintain the highest standards and consequently not all applicants are accepted for membership.

Though the Society has over 100 members not all are represented on this site.
